404 392 2394 Solid AFO (SAFO) is predominantly applied to completely limit the ankle joint movement in patients with foot drop, weak dorsiflexion and/or plantarflexion, ligament injury about the ankle, mild knee instability,and valgus/varus.
The articulated AFO provides controlled ankle movement, with motion determined by medical necessity and through gait analysis. The articulated AFO can be fabricated with a molded inner bootie to help reduce tone by providing improved foot alignment. Variable Joint choice is available to Clinician request.
A Ground (Floor) Reaction Ankle Foot Orthosis (GRAFO or FRAFO) is a type of custom fabricated, molded plastic, AFO capable of triplanar control of the foot/ankle complex. Generally formed from polypropylene, there are several variations on the GRAFO but all include an anterior shell which captures the tibia proximally.

The C.R.O.W. is a combination of an ankle foot orthosis and a custom boot. The C.R.O.W. was developed for patients with severe Charcot changes of the foot and ankle where a more traditional means of treatment was not satisfactory. The device is in essence a bivalved copolymer full foot enclosure ankle foot orthosis with a rocker bottom sole built on the device.
The orthosis is fully lined with a custom foot insert and custom formed to a plastic impression of the patients affected limb. Appropriate modifications are performed to the impression, which permits for equal weight distribution through the limb and foot.
